Register with DOT for a #, then forward to your state to assess whether you will be listed as intrastate, or interstate, if not already done, do that! In order to be any size carrier for hire you must start there. Don't want to be running illegally then have truck impounded far from home. Had a towing, lt long range auto transport/towing business from 03-present now CDLA licensed going bigger as there seemed to be no money in low volume single hauls except sporatically. Any other questions feel free to ask. New here but, can possibly help or advise? Good luck to you and your venture.

If you don't have the experiance with car hauling you will have problems getting the insurance even if you have the Class A CDL and the DOT numbers,UCR,Irp,Ifta. Insurance will cost around $5000 and up.-- Note the Class A is required by DOT on cars. -- Billy
