Entertainer Coach Driver
Posted: Tue May 23, 2006 6:16:27 AM

Interested in driving tour buses for bands such as Disturbed, Papa Roach, the American Idol tour and many more?  My name is Neville Shende and I am an Entertainer Coach driver.  I'm frequently asked the question, while on the road, how to get a job like mine.  For this reason I have written an indepth informational book, on how to get into this elite driving industry.  Go to to order.  I provide information on what you need to get into the industry, what it takes to become this type of driver, and provide you as well with an extensive list of Entertainer Coach companies and Trucking companies across the U.S and Canada.  The busy tour season has approached, so check out the site and get started.      Happy touring!

To all those who read the entertainer coach driver book posted, what they don't tell you is that you can not just apply for this job, you have to be reffered by some one or know some one in the industry, I have been a OTR tour bus driver for10 yrs yet my resume and clean accident free DMV report is not good enough for these companies.. I unlike some other people wanted to drive entertainers just for the love of the road and the coaches, not to be some rock star wanna be ( I can care less who is on the coach) or dont care to be bragging about it either... the fact is that these companys would rather have their buddies come in and get them their CDL rather then hire a qualified motor coach operator with years experience.....

I'm a driver looking for a seat. I left my last company, because of the death of my mother.  I've been waiting for a seat to open for 2 years, and have bounced around to companies that need a fill-in for a driver out or to retrieve buses from delinquent clients,  then a friend told me about this page. I have an outstanding resume and I'm college educated. I write my own forms/spreadsheets for TM's to use for float/pay.

I seen your note on Entertainer Coach Drivers, I would like to fill out a application for a driver with your company. I have worked in law enforcement for the past 18 years I took a early retirement and started diving about 4 years ago. I have drove for Premier out of Tampa Florida and have done tours with Bo Bice. One of the good things about using me is with my career as a Police Officer I have the security and safety back round that most entertainers would like to have when traveling. I can travel were ever and when ever needed. I have worked with a number of entertainers in both jobs. I can provide you with a list if you would like I have references and letters of accomplishments if you would like. Please let me know If you can use my services rather driving or security I will do what you need I just enjoy both kinds of work regardless who or were it is.

Thank you for you time. I sure hope to here from you.

Ok guys,

First of all Thanks Nelvis for the very imformative Book, Had I not read it I wold have not known where to even begin researching this industry and how to get in. It has been a long hard but interseting "adventure" looking into how to get a seat. All those that are submitting your resume's, well "traditional" resumes are not what they are looking for. This is not your standard 9-5 or fortune 500 company so can that idea. I have come across some drivers that have been willing to share some inside information through my reseach. Bottom line if you really want to get into this industry you will find a way! (sorry not giving up my contacts or what I have learned) what did you expect it was not easy for me and if you really want to do this then you need to learn the ropes just like I did or you wont be ready..I am still not 100% sure. This is some serious work and peoples lives are in your hands, you will be driving at night in mostly unfamiliar roads so anyone that thinks this is not a big deal has not driven a 45" coach out on the open roads or into various cities and states weather conditions/chaining up...There are rules, permits, and basically gotta know things about each states motor coach laws, ROAD AND HEIGHT!!!!! restrictions..ETC...

I have still not been able to get in yet, but I have not given up...

any companies that may be interested in reviewing my resume please feel free to contact me @

Good luck

Ryan, I have over 15 years in entertainment and 14 years driving tour buses and production trucks. I have called many companies and they do not hire the experience. It does seem to be on a friend basis. Would love to get in to the tour buses again but seems there is no opportunities. I can be contacted at 573-421-9334 Jimmie

If you really want to be a Entertainer Coach Driver. Do what I did. Buy a bus! If your a cop, don't tell no one. If your a seater coach driver, forget it!  To hard in the curves.Truck driver the same. your not transporting toilet paper. People are standing ,usually drunk or st*ned. If you like baby sitting grown men, then this is the  job for you. They don't pick up after them selves and expect you to clean the bus everyday. Crews are usually premoddonnas. Especially lightmen. They stink and don't take showers unless there is a shower at the venues. Your on their clock not yours. Don't drive I-10 you'll get busted. Border crossings- good luck, someones not getting in. Make sure you pull your permits. If you qualify with these few comments Good Luck! Need a Bus? Email me.
