Free “Aero” Test Data Now Available to Trucking Industry
(SEPT. 8, 2009 GURNEE, IL) - - Trucks push a lot of air! That means fuel consumption and MONEY.Recent aerodynamic studies have concluded that even small changes to a truck’s silhouette can have a noticeable impact on airflow, and inevitably, fuel consumption. Since the flow of air around wheels is one of the most aerodynamically disturbed areas of a commercial truck, an aero-style wheel treatment has a profound effect on the way a truck slices through the wind.
Chicago area manufacturer, RealWheels Corporation (RWC), has been manufacturing a different version of aerodynamic cover for over fifteen years, but during the early days it was primarily purchased for visual styling and appearance.During the past 18 months, RWC redesigned the Aero-Cover, making significant advances in the product.Covers were then installed on numerous trucks and then taken through a series of real world tests. The company is now offering those results FREE of charge to any owner/operator or fleet concerned with fuel economy.“It’s the right thing to do,” explains RWC Vice President, Jhan Dolphin. “The testing was very time-consuming, but we were very pleased with the results. Most in the industry already know that anything aerodynamic can help, but seeing just how quickly it began saving companies money was very powerful.”
Aerodynamics is nothing new, but RWC has taken this concept to a completely new level with a product that not only addresses the aerodynamic challenges of wheel design, but also helps to promote your brand, logo and/or product. They can be printed with anything! While the accounting departments of large truck fleets are taking notice of the fuel savings, their marketing departments are getting creative with the various image or logo possibilities.Imagine adding a company logo or image to every wheel in their fleet. There’s no argument that a polished aluminum or 4-color printed wheel cover looks much better than a rusty truck wheel.Promoting your message is just a nice added bonus.
RealWheels has spent over thirty years making vehicles look better, and finds the new AERO-series appeals just as much to the truck owner looking for better styling as those looking to save fuel.Their Aero-Deluxe covers actually create the look of a custom wheel. They are created from light-weight, polished aluminum, and then coated with a highly reflective and eco-friendly process called RealGloss. The Aero-Custom covers are created from high-impact plastic, are no-frills and provide a very solid and sturdy appearance. The Aero-Graphix covers are the ones that can have anything printed on them in full color, and they even offer an Aero-Clear style that allows all the benefits of aerodynamics without covering your bright polished wheels.
When you consider the amount of consumer and industrial goods that travel our nation's highways every day, the impact that improved aerodynamics can have on fuel costs and the environment is substantial.Having access to these important “Aero” test results will definitely help companies to GO GREEN.Test data is available, by calling RealWheels Corporation at (847) 662-7722.

New TireStat™ No-Nonsense Commercial-Grade TPMS is Released by Mobile Awareness, LLC
[CLEVELAND, OH] - Mobile Awareness, LLC, a provider of leading-edge transportation safety products, today announced TireStat™, the next generation of TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring & Maintenance System) products geared toward Commercial Trucks, Trailers, Buses, Off-Road, Construction, RV, EMS and Fire Trucks.
TireStat™ is a complete and effective tire pressure monitoring system that provides major benefits such as increased fuel economy, enhanced safety, maximized tire casing life and extended tire wear. The light weight TireStat™ sensors are mounted externally on the valve stem allowing air input without sensor removal. This No-Nonsense approach virtually eliminates limitations previously found to prevent the use of TPMS on fleet vehicles, including costly tire maintenance, time consuming installations, lost cap mounted sensors and difficulty in roadside service.
TireStat™ is preprogrammed by wheel position for effortless installation, yet can be easily altered by the user. This exclusive design allows customers to optionally program their own warning alert levels by axle position, offering improved management of fuel and tire expense. For fleet owners this provides a faster ROI, simplicity of driver participation and low on-going maintenance since there are no issues due to lost sensors.
“Mobile Awareness recognizes the need for a driver-friendly TPMS solution which is affordable for all types of vehicle safety environments,” says Brandon Stotsenburg, Director of Sales & Marketing at Mobile Awareness. “Our latest TireStat™ system provides a compromise-free tire maintenance solution for individuals, businesses and commercial fleets.”
TireStat™ not only detects under-inflated, over-inflated and rapid leaking tires, it also monitors tire temperature. Knowing when a tire exceeds a safe operating temperature, even when the tire pressure appears to be in a normal range, is vitally important to maximize tire life, extend the ability to retread and enhance driver safety.
In addition, the TireStat™ exclusive rechargeable Handheld Monitor functions as a portable tire gauge. As a result, the user can monitor actual tire pressure while adjusting each tire’s inflation level. All TireStat™ systems include an easily mounted transceiver which assures continuous transmission of the wireless signals without the inconvenience of installing multiple antennas.
TireStat™ features include an integrated anti-theft locking mechanism for the sensors which are housed in a rugged nylon encasement with a five (5) to seven (7) year battery life. Sensors are designed for harsh environments and operate in all weather conditions within a pressure range of 15 PSI to 150 PSI.
Stotsenburg concludes, "A TPMS system is only effective if it is easy for the driver to use. TireStat™ provides the best overall solution for individuals and fleets who want to affordably experience the safety and cost reduction benefits that they have come to expect from Mobile Awareness.”

Eagle Capital Launches Free Online Cost Calculator to Help Truckers Plan Finances
Users log on to www.milestomoney.com to track costs per mile, other expenses
TUPELO, Miss. (Dec. 19, 2008) Eagle Capital, an accounts receivables factoring company with deep roots in the transportation industry, has introduced a new tool that helps truckers manage their business by tracking expenses by month, by year, and most importantly, by mile. The Eagle Cost Calculator, located at www.milestomoney.com, is accessible and free to everyone. Users dont have to be an Eagle client or enter any personal information to use itever. Theres no free trial period; the site will always be free. Eagle President Joe Estess said the whole point of the calculator was to offer financial planning help with no strings attached. As a factoring company, we offer a financial bridge to a lot of people out there who cant wait 90 days to get paid on an invoice, Estess said. Where we see owner-operators and small trucking companies running into trouble is that they sometimes realize this when its almost too late. Theyve dug themselves into a big hole. With milestomoney.com, we saw an opportunity to help truckers get a clear-eyed view of whats going on with their business, Estess said. When you know what youre dealing with, you can be proactive about finding a solution. The calculator is easy to use. Users visit www.milestomoney.com. In the first tab, they either estimate or forecast the miles driven per year and then enter their fixed costs, which might include their truck payment, insurance payment, or the cost of licenses or permits. Users can enter costs by month or by yearthe system does the math. In the second tab, users enter variable costs, which include a wide range of items from telephone to fuel to meals to repairs. Any fields may be left blank. In the last tab, users enter something important: their income. When youre working for yourself, sometimes youre just worried about keeping the business running, Estess said. You might forget that you have to make a living. Were trying to get people to think of the income they bring home as part of their business operating expenses. With the click of a button, users have their business financials in black and white. The report details how much it costs to operate their business by month or by year. Most importantly, the report lists how much truckers must earn per mile to cover their costs. For example, if a trucker drives 100,000 miles per year, and the calculator shows that his operating costs are $114,000 per year, then he must earn an average of $1.14 per mile just to break even.If truckers dont like what they see, the report arms them with the data they need to make changes, Estess said.If youre spending too much in one area, it may be time to cut back, Estess said. If your rates are too low, it may be time to renegotiate. But if youre not making enough to cover all your costs or you are just breaking even, you may need to get some help.Estess said many Eagle clients use accounts receivables factoring to give them the breathing room they need to be successful. By factoring their invoices, their cash flow is not subject to the whims of their customers and varying payment schedules. Our clients know when to expect their money, and regulating your cash flow relative to your expenses is the second step to financial success, Estess said. The first step is knowing what youre dealing with--thats what the Eagle Cost Calculator helps truckers understand.

SIMONS PETROLEUM Market Update 2008.09.02Hurricane Gustav rumbled ashore west of New Orleans with more hype than substance. The storm once forecasted to reach Category 5 status never developed past a low Category 3 hurricane, for which we are thankful. Crude oil prices sold off hard after Gustav made landfall. At one point over the holiday weekend, crude oil prices were near $119/bbl on electronic trading. Soon after Gustav made landfall, the market began to sell-off. At one point on Monday, crude oil prices had fallen under $111/bbl, down $8 from the weekend high.
Thus far, it appears that Gustav has gone easier on the energy infrastructure located in Louisiana and Texas than Katrina and Rita. While several refineries and pipeline shut down operations ahead of the storm, we have yet to hear of any substantial damage to either refineries or pipelines. If this is indeed the case, then the supply constraints should be minimal. However, we would expect that supplies in Louisiana and northeast Texas to be restricted for the next several days as refineries and pipelines are brought back online. As for off-shore drilling operations, the U.S. Minerals Management Service (MMS) reported that, based on data from offshore operator reports, personnel have been evacuated from a total of 626 production platforms, equivalent to 87.3 % of the 717 manned platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, personnel from 100 rigs have also been evacuated; this is equivalent to 82.6 % of the 121 rigs currently operating in the Gulf. From the same operators’ reports, it is estimated that approximately 100 % of the oil production in the Gulf has been shut-in. Estimated current oil production from the Gulf of Mexico is 1.3 million barrels of oil per day. It is also estimated that approximately 95.4 % of the natural gas production in the Gulf has been shut-in. Estimated current natural gas production from the Gulf of Mexico is 7.4 billion cubic feet of gas per day.
We should also note that we are still in the middle of the Atlantic hurricane season. The tropics are expected to be very active over the next several weeks. Hurricane Hanna has already formed to the Southeast of Florida. However, the current forecasts for Hanna project the hurricane to stay on the east coast of Florida. In addition to Hanna, there are several other storms that are expected to reach hurricane status over the next week. So, get ready to hear the names Ike and Josephine soon. As for oil and distillate prices, it looks as though the market will remain soft over the short-term. Prices should remain soft due to a weakening oil demand and a strengthening U.S. Dollar; of course, this would be barring any major supply disruptions. If oil prices can break below $109/bbl, then there should be a good chance that we will see oil prices test the $100/bbl level. Of course, all of this could be out the window if we get another major hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. We will continue to follow the effects of Gustav and will keep everyone abreast of any distillate supply constraints.

The process is very simple for both parties involved. A person or company posts a shipment in which transporters can bid on. Transporters can bid on the shipments from a shipper. The shipper then can review all the bids posted for that shipment. They can then accept or reject those bids from transporters. Once a bid is accepted / rejected the transporter is notified via email that his bid has been accepted/rejected. Both parties are then given each other’s contact information and deal directly with each other to complete the business at hand. When both parties agree then and only then will Truckinfo.net charges a minimal fee to the transporters credit card. The amount charged can be viewed in our users’ agreement. Truckinfo.net’s “add my listing”is an advertising campaign that is operated by a PPC (pay per click) system based on performance. Our PPC system is superior in so many ways to the old ways of advertising. There are three big benefits of advertising this way. First, you control the position of your listing instead of the old way which is being listed alphabetically in descending order. Listings in our sponsored links are placed from highest to lowest priced PPC. You can move your listing up or down in the directory by how much you set for your PPC.
Secondly, you can control the amount you spend for advertising from $20 to $20,000. You have complete control. Once your budget has been reached you simple cancel or pause your listing. If you want to expand your campaign, you simply add more revenue to your campaign. Thirdly and we think most important is sponsored listings are performance based instead of paying a flat fee and hoping for results or traffic. You only pay when someone clicks on your listing. You are not charged for just being listed in our directories. You are paying for results. We do not know about you but, we do not mind paying for advertising if we get results.
