American Trucking Associations

American Truck Historical Society
ATHS is made up of people who love old trucks and the history of trucking--restored old trucks and unrestored old trucks; old trucks that run and old trucks that don't. ATHS collects and preserves the dynamic history of antique trucks and the trucking industry. We currently have over 21,000 members in the US, Canada, and twenty foreign countries. Once a year we hold a national convention and antique truck show which features from 400 to 700+ antique trucks (25 years old or older).  One benefit of membership is a subscription to our 48-page, bimonthly magazine, Wheels of Time.

America's Independent Trucker's Association
America's Independent Truckers' Association, Inc.  (AITAonline.com) serves the independent truckers and small fleets with a NO CHARGE program that provides members with volume buying power and discounts from nationally known vendors, as well as necessary information for OTR travels.

Intermodal Association of North America
The IANA is a leading industry trade association representing the combined interest of intermodal freight transportation  companies. We have over 640 members.

International Brotherhood of Teamsters
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents more than 1.5 million working men and women throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The history of the Teamsters union is rooted in the transportation industry and our union members have helped this country grow from the delivery of goods by horse teams to today’s unionized truckers. Teamsters not only represent commercial truck drivers but delivery drivers in every industry.

Mid-West Truckers Association.
For nearly 40 years, MTA has represented truck owners domiciled and operating in the Midwest.  With members now in 14 states, MTA provides members with a variety of services from insurance programs to drug & alcohol testing.  In addition, MTA provides legislative and regulatory representation for its 2,700 trucking company members

National Association of Independent Truckers

NATSO
NATSO, Inc. is the professional association of America's $42 billion travel plaza and truckstop industry. The association was founded in 1960 by truckstop operators as a means of managing credit information on their mutual customers. Today NATSO serves as America's official source of information on the diverse travel plaza and truckstop industry; conducts an annual convention and trade show attended by more than 2,000 industry representatives; acts as the voice of the industry in Washington on legislative and regulatory matters; and supports efforts to generally improve the business climate in which its member companies operate.

National Private Truck Council
NPTC is a national trade association dedicated exclusively to representing private motor carrier fleets. These corporate or "private" motor carrier fleets are operated by manufacturers, distributors, processors, and retailers to meet their inbound and outbound transportation needs. Such fleets also include food, retail, wholesale, construction and service companies that provide utility, communications and various other services to consumers and business customers. Private motor carrier fleets account for approximately 82 percent of the medium and heavy-duty trucks registered in the United States; travel approximately 53 percent of all the U.S. miles traveled for medium and heavy-duty trucks; and consist of slightly more than two million vehicles. Consequently, private fleets comprise the largest segment of the trucking industry.

NorthAmerican Transport Association Inc

Ontario Trucking Association
The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) was founded in 1926, and provides services and public policy advocacy for trucking companies hauling freight into, out of and within the Province of Ontario and the continent. OTA presently has about 1700 member companies and is the only trucking association in Ontario that represents and has members from all segments of the industry -- for-hire carriers, private carriers, owner-operators, intermodal, suppliers, etc.

Owner Operators Independent Drivers Association
The Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association was founded in 1973 and is the national trade association representing the views and interests of professional truckers in all 50 states and Canada. OOIDA's mission is to serve owner-operators, small fleets and professional truckers; to work for a business climate where truckers are treated equally and fairly; to promote highway safety among all highway users; and to promote a better business climate and efficiency for all truck operators.Our national headquarters is located near Kansas City in Grain Valley, Missouri and is staffed with more than 100 full time employees.

Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association
Since 1959, Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) has helped its 1,000+ members in 34 countries attain the highest standard for quality and safety. SC&RA is committed to providing the unique information and any other lawful activities members need to safely, legally and profitably transport, lift and erect oversize and overweight items.

Transportation Intermediaries Assn.
As a condition of membership, all TIA members are required to sign a strict, national Code of Ethics. The Ethics Committee of TIA arbitrates and ensures that members adhere to the Code of Ethics. These articles have been adopted by the Transportation Intermediaries Association to promote and maintain high standards of professional service and ethical business conduct among its members.

Truckload Carriers Association
The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is the only national trade association whose collective sole focus is the truckload segment of the motor carrier industry.  The association represents dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, and intermodal container carriers operating in the 48 contiguous states as well as Alaska, Mexico, and Canada.  Representing operators of over 340,000 trucks, which collectively produce an annual revenue of over $34 billion, TCA is an organization tailored to specific truckload carrier needs.

Trucking Industry Defense Association
The Trucking Industry Defense Association is the only international organization devoted exclusively to the defense of the trucking industry in personal injury, property damage, and worker's compensation claims. TIDA was started in April 1993, by a group of people familiar with the industry, all of whom had extensive experience defending the trucking industry. The association has grown to more than 500 members, more than half of whom are in-house counsel, claims, and risk management professionals at trucking and truck insurance companies. Even with this wide industry representation, TIDA still seeks members in all aspects of the industry and in as many companies as possible, from both common carriers and private fleets, to broaden the network of information available to members

United Truck Drivers Association
The United Truck Drivers Association (UTDA) is a non-profit organization that represents the well being of professional truck drivers and their families in the United States and Canada, we are an active advocate for trucker rights, and use the power given by our ever growing community of truck driver members, to protect and preserve trucker rights and work to educate communities about the trucking industry and place an positive image of truckers in everyone's minds.
