SWINGLIFT MARKETING LTD
The World’s First, and Still the World Leader in Container Handling
Swinglifts are mobile trailer-mounted cranes that have revolutionized the handling and transportation of shipping containers.
Containers are easily transported by road on a Swinglift trailer. At their destination they can be quickly transferred from the Swinglift to the ground, to a truck, or to a rail wagon. This puts rail sidings and ports within reach of every Swinglift operator.
In New Zealand, the home of Swinglift Marketing Ltd, 90% of shipping containers are routinely placed on the ground by swinglifts.
ADVANTAGES OF SWINGLIFTS
Increase fleet efficiency and flexibility
Place containers in previously inaccessible sites
Increase efficiency in emptying or filling containers
Reduce accidents and product damage
Eliminate double-handling of container contents
Reduce delays waiting for a full or empty container to be moved
Swinglifts increase the productivity of a big fleet
and are also the ideal machine for the small-business owner-operator.
HC 40/20 SWINGLIFT
Best Payload
Best Stability
Best Engineering
Best Safety Record
Best Chassis Strength
Best Heavy Container Transfer Speed
The sophisticated HC 40/20 can handle 1x40-foot container, 1x20-foot, or 2x20-foot containers linked together with special coupling chains. The modules slide on chrome rails to adjust for the different container lengths. The Swinglift handles containers up to 9 foot 6 inches high.
The wide span stabilizer and outboard jib pivot provide fast, safe operation. In the HC 40/20 Swinglift the centre of the container mass is always at least I m within the line of stabilizer support. In other container sidelifters the container mass passes outside the stabilizer support, resulting in reduced stability.
Because of its high stability, the HC40/20 Swinglift can lift a 35-tonne balanced container even under adverse conditions.
When the stabilizers are extended there is ample room for a truck to back into position alongside for loading. The stabilizers extend right over the truck bed. Other vehicles can be serviced while the Swinglift is itself fully loaded.
With an exceptionally low tare weight of 8850 kg the HC40/20 can legally carry 28.5 tonnes on New Zealand roads. This is a 2000 kg payload advantage over any other container sidelifter.
Fast hydraulics give transfer times of four minutes from start to finish.
The HC40/20 Swinglift trailer is shipped complete on the deck of a container vessel.
SL20M SWINGLIFT
This compact Swinglift handles 20-foot containers up to 9 foot 6 inches high. It can lift a 25-tonne balanced container. The patented ‘drive-over’ stabilizer allows another vehicle to draw alongside whatever its wheel configuration.
The SL20M is sold as a kit to be fitted to a 6-wheel or 8-wheel vehicle. The kit is shipped inside a container.
The SL20M on an 8-wheeler can be coupled to a 4-axle trailer. In this configuration it can transport two 20-foot containers, with a combined payload of up to 28 tonnes. An SL20M Swinglift on an 8-wheeler is very manoeuvrable, and is ideal for placing containers inside buildings and on difficult sites with negligible tyre scuff.
When coupled to a 2-axle trailer the SL20M can economically carry empty or light containers, and is still able to lift heavy containers on and off other vehicles.
