Is there more profit in owning a 48ft flatbed g/n or hauling rv's and boats? My thought was getting a ford f450 or 550 and putting on a 9ft flatbed. so, I could haul freight and a bumper tow rv together. Have a below deck g/n hitch and a removable 5th wheel hitch so it would be versatile. Another ? does anyone have sleepers on their light or med duty trucks? Has anyone heard of a light/medium duty truck? I's a beefed up 350. I have heard of them but don't know where to get one. Does anyone use freight boards exclusively? |

I am going to give you a piece of advice. You might not like it but here goes. Do not ask for others opinions. Do the homework your self and get your own customers yourself. If you think anyone is going to hand you your business, you are in for a rude awkening. There is profit in most any area you choose to go into, however try to avoid brokers and dispatch services. They will be putting more money in their pocket than you will. Good luck and happy hunting |

Don't let him get you down, if you are new to this business, and it sounds like you are, then maybe leasing with a good company to start out would be the most "profitable." I started with a company hauling RV's from Indiana to Texas, but because they don't load you both directions, i decided to lease to someone who could load me in both. Sure they get part of the load($$), but until I learn enough about the business to get my own authority, I'm content to lease and learn. If you want to send me a private message me at charles.smith1@yahoo.com I will give you all the details. |
