Want to start hot Shot Business
Posted: Wed Jun 10, 2009 6:01:44 PM

My husband and I are wanting to start a hot shot business in Louisiana.  My husband has been in drilling field for Natural Gas for 4 years and I am working towards a business degree (1 year down 3 to go).  We are not sure what exactly would be needed to start a business like this and how the pay scale runs.  If any if you hot shotters have any advice and tips for us please by all means let us know.  We really appreciate and look forward to hearing from.  Hopefully we wil be back on here one day looking for drivers!

Please email any info you have for us to milton.erica@yahoo.com

Thanks Again,

Milton & Erica Ducote

If you can hold off till next year...No freight is moving. I just parked my truck and went back to a seat of a regional flatbed carrier at a discount of .31 cents a mile. I just couldnt keep looking at my savings acct dwindle down. Last year at this time I had earned 42K. This year im not even to 12K. Its good when business is good..But there is no way hot shot can compete in this market. 70% of the loads I was hauling last year are now on the back of a tandem at a  discounted rate to cover their fuel to get back home. Or atleast one stop closer to home. Its not the o/o tandem operators fault becasue their loads are scarce too.. it really is gloomy days to be an owner operator.
