I am an O/O and have taken up to 4 of my grandsons with me on the road.  The Highway Patrol officers I met at several truck stops said they had no rules they knew about that went beyond being Safe and making sure the passengers are under control at all times.  He thought the boys were well-behaved and had no problem with me and the kids when we left the truck stop and got back into my rig.  You might want to call the DOT hotline, from a pay phone and ask them.  While you are on the phone, call American Drivers Association and join now and you will have your license protected.  Everyone has insurance on their rigs, their homes, their health and their life, but so many truckers do not think about protecting their livelihood, their license.  Call them and join and save some time when you really will need their services, and you will, I assure you.  Their number is toll free: 1-800-944-4948 or visit their website at: www.americandriversassociation.com.
