Do companies really observe whether or not you've gone to school, or just had training from some trucking company? Guys like SAGE sound reputable, but am I just throwing away my money, when all the employer wants to really know is how long I've gone OTR. Please fill me in on this before I commit to a school. Thankyou so much. |

Try going with trucking co that has training like USA Truck or SuperService or Swift , ETC better off. if yoiu go school and get train then you apply at trucking company then you will have to go with a trainer for about 4-6 weeks. If youi go with one these trucking companys that provide trained once trained they will put you in your own truck. Hope this helps

Most reputable school will have a company waiting on you with a contract for you to drive for them before you finish your training.but always remember the schools are only there to help you get your cdl.not to teach you the real life otr experance, wich is two very differant things. |

Company's verus schools? go for the school, companies that are schools, are looking to fill a seat and truck, and are like puppy mills, and don't really care about professionalism, in my view.
Those companies that train after a secondary school are looking out for themselves and you. Take the school time and get a course of 160 HRS AT A SCHOOL AND DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF, it is you only , and your skills when ______ hits the fan on the road.
