Researching before acting
Posted: Thu Nov 30, 2006 10:34:54 AM

As simply stated as the thread title, I just wanted to state the importance of checking into Brokers, Shippers or even Freight Forwarders credit before taking loads.  This common of a question extends to trucker drivers of old too, not just the newbies.

There are plenty of good shippers and brokerage firms out there that can help.  The difference is, is finding a valid source before considering working with those given companies.  Time and time again I hear people complain about working with brokers, not getting paid, thinking credit services are too expensive, not worth it.....well in actuality, doesn't it make more sense to pay minimal fees for a good service then getting burned for $100s if not $1000s.....do the math, it makes perfect sense.

The next question to consider....Who to use?  When looking at such services, make sure they are valid, first hand information services, not surveyed applications.  How do you find this out?  Just ask the credit service when you get them on the phone, “Where does your information come from?”...not difficult.

Have a good day, and happy holidays.

Chase

Hello Chase,

I'm Bradley, and have been seriousley considering the Broker/Agent training.

I have heard of some Brokers or shippers taking the $$$ of the load and burning the driver and agent.  How common is this done and isn;t there Fed. guidlines protecting businesess from this criminal activity?  I'm out of Wichita, and could use some more info and guidance on the whole picturew.  Can you help?

Please e-mail at ksredrooster@sbcglobal.net

Thanks,  Bradley
