Question About Hot Shots
Posted: Wed Oct 14, 2009 2:53:35 PM

My son-in-law hauls trailers, RVs, etc. He has 2 1-ton trucks with goose necks. He has a 24' goose neck trailer, but does not use it for his deliveries. I have started looking for loads for him. As an example, he regularly hauls 4-5 large trailers for a Texas manufacturer. This Saturday he will be delivering a load to Colorado and he wants me to find a load going somewhere else - preferably towards Texas, but it can be to anywhere. There is no problem finding loads to haul if you have your own trailer, but what is the best way to find loads if you simply haul someone elses trailer.

Thanks,

Cy Stapleton, Lufkin, Texas

Finding a load back will be hard without your own trailer.

I agree.. If hes gonna be w/o a trailer alot he might want to consider a flatbed for his truck... Might have better luck finding 6000# or less  LTLs.  Most of the loadboards dont help small trucks unless your really dig. Some brokers/shippers list the LTLs under the wrong category looking for a big truck.

I agree with maybe a 12' flatbed to load it would help.
