the throwout bearing in our 02 fl60 w/2126 cat is very noisy but stops noise when the clutch pedal is depressed slightly. If I adjust the freeplay will it shorten the life of the bearing? |

If it's making noise it's most likely wore out. Is there a grease zerk on this throw out bearing? |

You're going to have to pull the Tranny anyways since this Bearing has been ignored for Grease. While the Trans is out replace the Clutch Pack and Grease everything needing Grease, yet NOT TOO MUCH or the Grease will affect Clutch action. Some Mechanics believe one can never apply too much Grease however in the Clutch area this saying is NOT applicable. Same principle with Brakes on S-Cam setups--Too much Grease applied and some Grease adheres to Brake Shoes therein causing loss of Braking and imbedding Grease into Shoes.
