Logging reserve drill time

I am a military reservist . My question is should I / must I / log my time while on reserve duty, and if I do it would be logged as on duty, not driving. I want to know this question from the standpoint of showing time worked for compensation and to show my trucking job that I have a legitimate claim to taking a day off before i go back on the road. As it is i have been doing my reserve duty then going back to my driving job with no time off in between, and I am just getting worn out. My company says that my time off was given when i did my reserve duty and if i took time off I would be fired. What are my options. what should I be logging. What is there that I can use to get some real time off. I'm not looking to be paid while I'm off , I just want to rest. As a final note, i'm really getting mad at the companys attitude when i do my reserve duty. i've done 2 tours in Afgahnastan and 2 in iraq; no bull ! If I and 160,000 other guys were not willing to go "downrange" then the owners and managers or even more their children would have to go instead. so what's to be done. |

The fact is, in the United States, NO company can deny you time to serve your company, whether it is for reserves for two weeks or if you are doing the 1 weekend a month time. If they give you trouble definitely go to your Officer of the Day or your base commander and tell them what is happening. They will contact your employer and inform them of the federal laws that protect you during this time. You have the RIGHT to get rest when you need it without fear of losing your job. Also, yes you can and should log all time spent out of the rig when you are involved in anything to do with your reserve unit. It is legally time spent out of the vehicle and should not be used against your driving time. Good luck and may God Bless you for your service to our country. |

Dear chaundra , you should read up your reg. before answering, the key is pay he gets paid for biing in the army so it becomes an employer and all work for a employer needs to be logged as on duty not driving, he can take a 34 restart and then strart driving with a cean 70 hrs. |
