I need to know everything about starting a tow truck business

My husband and i want to start a tow truck business. Can you tell us how and about how much. We would be starting from scratch.We live in Idaho and dont know also what the qualifications are here. Your time would be greatly appreciated. Thanks  Lorraine

HELLO FROM FOUNTAINE TRANSPORT IN UPSTATE NY.I KNOW MY SELF,I WOULD NOT GET INVOLVED IN REPOING CARS OR POLICE TOWS,(DWI,SNOW TOW AWAYS,ACCIDENTS)THE REASON POLICE TOWING IS LIABILITY,AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE A LARGE FENCED IN YOUR,AGAIN ZONING,JUNK YARD LISCENE,ENVIROMENTAL ISSUES WITH SPILLED OIL.IF IT WAS ME I WOULD BE A 4 CAR ROLL BACK,(TRUCK PAPER.COM.)I WOULD GET A WEB SITE.WITH A RATE QUTE REPLIE SHEET,I WOULD GO ON LINE AND SIGN UP FOR COPART SUBHAULER,IAAI(INSURANCE AUCTION)SIGN UP AS A SUBHAULER,I WOULD GET IN WITH AUTO DEALERS AND AUTO AUCTIONS.I WOULD ALSO DO, SMALL EQUIPMENT(COMPACT TRACTORS,GENERATORS,ETC)ALSO GET MC AUTHORITY,ON THE HOOK INSURANCE,CARGO INSURANCE.ALSO ON THE ROLL BACK,ON THE WHEEL LIFT HAVE A HITCH ATTACHMENT,SO HE CAN TOW CAMPERS AND BOATS.WESITES,CARLOAD USA,MCNUTT AUTO BROKERS,U-SHIP,READY AUTO TRANSPORT,TRANS LOGIC AUTO CARRIERS..HOPE THIS HELPS

I would stay out of the towing business.  Why do you want to start a towing company?  I towed for five years, including heavy duty.  I know that this is a late reply, but if you have questions let me know.  If you have started one, good luck.
