Posted: Mon Feb 23, 2009 5:01:53 PM

when i am sitting still trying to get it to go into gear it will grind and i will have to pretty much force it into gear, i have had my clutch adjusted and my clutch brake checked out, the guy told me it was worn a little but it should be fine.  international 9 speed,

Is the truck idleing to high? If not I'd say it's the clutch brake. You don't have to pull the transmission to replace the clutch brake. You can reach up in there and cut the old one off and replace it with one thats  like a collar it flips right around the imputshaft and bolts or pins together.

Clutch brake.

Until you get it fixed,  shut the engine off, stab the gear you want, clutch it, and start it back up, proceed as normal.

This Beats grinding gears.
