My husband and I are starting our own trucking business. We have been able to apply for our authority and get insurance set up. What other permits and certifications do we need before we can roll?

You can secure motor carrier authority, single state registration, IFTA, HUT, KYU, OR & NM permits, trip permits, ect. through www.dotauthority.com.

If you're new to getting your authority, you might also consider attending a two-day Trucking Success Workshop for new carriers which covers finding shippers, freight rate development, contract negotiations with shippers and brokers, sales and marketing and safety compliance. The instructor is a former DOT investigator/USDOT-licensed Practitioner certified in Motor Carrier Safety regulations. Call 888 414 1874 and ask for Phil or Melissa.
