getting freight connections

can anyone please tell me how i can get freight connections,brokers,etc. i dont want to lease,i would like to stay independent,and do broker freight,any kinda of freight,just no lease,you ask for help in getting connections,and its like a big secret,come on fella's they is enough freight out there,but where do we go to start getting it,all i'm asking is for alittle advise in obtaining connections please.

Hey Bobby, I can't tell you where or how to hook up with brokers and I have not had any luck on load boards. I haven't signed up for any load boards yet so not sure if that will work any better. I have looked at the free ones and tried out the demos but there is not much on there for hotshots. What I have done is gone out to local companies and passed out business cards and tried selling myself to these companies. So far everyone tells me its slow and not alot of freight moving. I am very persistent and will continue to go to these companies on a regular basis to try and get them to use me. So far a couple have given me a chance and I got a few loads but it's just real slow. I don't want to lease on with anyone either. I want to build a company from scratch into something much bigger. I want to have several trucks running all the time. It will take time, hard work and dedication but I think I can do it. You just have to get out there and try and get your own loads from shippers. That my friend is the trade off of being independent.
