freightliner problem
Posted: Thu Dec 14, 2006 4:27:48 PM

I'm working on a 2000 century class freightliner with a Detroit series 60 and an Eaton auto shift.  It won't start or turn over.  I've replaced the starter, relay, and checked every wire and ground.  It also just got new batteries before it came in to me.   I have found a code, # 55 - missing ecu.  Any help would be appreciated.

I show code 55 as data linkfault also.. j1939, check all lockout switches clutch, tranny etc.,  can you start it by powering starter direct?
