Engine Fan
Posted: Wed Jan 28, 2009 9:08:43 AM

have a 2005  Pete with the C15 Engine and the Engine Fan quit working all at once.....will not come on automatically....have now put a toggle switch on the dash so I can operate it manually.  Fan switch and the 3 sensors that have to do with temperature have been changed.   Have had it to several Peterbilt shops and they cannot figure out what is causing this....

It doesn't suprise me peterbilt can't find the problem. I could tell you some stories about how they'll put the truck washer or oil change boy on your truck to diagnose it. when they're busy. Just because you went to a dealer means your getting a qualified mechanic.

Did they pull the fan off and check the fan clutch? Could be time for rebuilt fan clutch? Can you here it engage (click) when you flip the switch with the engine off. If it's not making any noise it's probably stuck.
