Is a Jake Brake hard on the Drive train? |

Chris,
An jake brake is not hard on a drive train, if it was,so would be driving it down the road. It does not change anything except instead of moving the vehicle forward, it is slowing the vehicle down. |

Can a malfunctioning Jake Break cause the engine to die as it is slowing down and also make it very hard to start. |

Keith,
Yes a malfunctioning Jake Brake can stall an engine and make it hard to start. The low rpm switch on the system is not working properly or at all. |
