Is a Jake Brake hard on the Drive train?

Chris,
An jake brake is not hard on a drive train, if it was,so would be driving it down the road. It does not change anything except instead of moving the vehicle forward, it is slowing the vehicle down.

Can a malfunctioning Jake Break cause the engine to die as it is slowing down and also make it very hard to start.

Keith,
Yes a malfunctioning Jake Brake can stall an engine and make it hard to start. The low rpm switch on the system is not working properly or at all.
