Does this kind of device exist?

I am a products development manager in an importer of car accessory products. Recently one of our clients asked me to source for a device which can monitor the cumulative mileage of a truck. Indeed every trailers have their own mileage meter. Unfortunately, that is in head part of the trailer. Our client is looking for something that can be equiped at tail part of the trailer. Because nowadays they need to do maintenance the tail part according to summary report. All figure need to be collected from the head part each time. Head part and tail part are not fixed together forever. Most of the time, they are separated.

The device already exists, its called a hubdometer.
