Hey guys, help me out ! I am a good old american boy, I have a dump truck 1999 freightliner century, own it outright, $60,000 invested in it, have my company name, incorporated, ready to go into a new business with a partner and he backed out, , i was supposed to be the driver. , I just got offered a chance to haul sand, gravel, dirt for a company doing highway construction at night. I have a cdl, but i dont know what kind of vehicle insurance or any other licenses or whatever else i need to have to start hauling for these people. they said get  million dollar insurance ,dot vehicle inspection, a dot physical, drug test, signage, and some little stuff. they gave me an independant contractor contract to sign, none of this is a problem except that i dont know where to start with the insurance part, i keep getting a run around, I have a clean driving record, the experience, and the money to pay for a policy, i need some guidance Who should i call for what kind of insurance, and what else do i need in regard to licenses or "filings" from the state of FLORIDA

 I NEED TO KNOW FAST----THANKS

I would contact the insurance person you use to insure your automobiles. You will need liabilty, cargo and deadhead insurance if you operate the truck yourself. If you hire a driver you will need workers compensation for that river. If you still owe the bank for the equipment or have a loan you will probably be required to have compensation on it. The DOT of your state should have all the information you need.
