Dedicated or Not

I ran dedicated route for this company,hauling paper product and picking up waste paper[recycle]..but there were timesI pick up product that not part of the dedicated contact..When i was hired,I told was i would be working dedicated for International Paper,deliver load and return empty,but given beer,cans,bricks etc to pick up.Is this fair to me [the Driver] to be paid for dedicated,where as the company gets paid by International Paper [contacted company for dedicated route] and other company or broker for load that i pick up deliver for them before i get back IP for next load???
