Crete Carrier
Posted: Thu May 10, 2007 11:16:44 AM

I am looking to hear from drivers who drive for Creet Carrier.  I am on my 30 days student team drive right now for another company and we are not getting the miles.  They put us in a truck that was not inspected after another driver turned it in.  The AC doesn’t work.  The previous driver took out both antennas, not to mention a few other minor things wrong.  Like I said before we are not getting the miles at all.  My team driver and I, in the last two weeks, have only driven 3500 miles. We haven’t even made it over to the West Coast and back once.

Only Drivers for Creet Carrier respond with their comments and experiences please.

Thanks!

THIS INFORMATION IS CURRENT AS OF OCTOBER 12, 2007!

Crete Carrier is a great place for some students to start their driving career.

Crete will consider you right out of school IF you score 95% or above in your driving school and IF your school is on their approved list. You have to be the best to work with the best!!

Drivers at Crete Carrier average 10083 miles per month as a solo driver. Crete has some teams, but it is not known as a team company.

Student Drivers at Crete Carrier earn $500 per week while with a trainer (usually 8 weeks). Ladies should contact Crete early, as female trainers are in short supply and you cannot go out with a male trainer!

Students earn $0.34 per mile once they are released to their own truck and will be increased to $0.41 at their first anniversary! (Shaffer, our sister company pays $.01 more per mile).

Benefits are good, including 401k with company match, Medical/Dental/Vision/Life insurances, profit sharing.

Crete does have a pet policy and a rider policy. There currently is no cost for your pet.

You are assigned to a terminal (usually the one closest to your home). Your terminal handles all of your personnel issues. Your dispatcher only dispatches you. This helps insure that there are no conflicts in getting miles.

I came to Crete right out of school and have been here over a year now. I'm very happy. Have occasional issues, but they are usually resolved quickly and professionally.

My husband drives for the sister company Shaffer. I am not sure who this other person is with Crete but

we do have a pet policy at a cost to the driver of $600.00 bucks and $145.00 of that is not refundable.

They use it for cleaning and replacement of the filters. Yea, the filters only cost a max of 40.00

Any new drivers are not allowed pets, no ?? asked.

Also, we are not getting miles at all.. We have to beg to get 1500 to 1800 miles a week

alot of our company drivers are quitting and my husband had to layover in florida for 4 days

with no pay due to lack of freight..
