coolingfan engages when jake is used.

Hi, I have a new to me 1999 379pete c12cat with fuller15 speed. The fan clutch engages whenever the jakebrake is in use.My question is, is this normal ,if not what might be the cause. Thanks. Great fourm by the way ,Iam glad I found it. |

My fan always came on when the jake was activated also. I think it's normal. |

it's an option in the computer.... the fan gives you extra hold back power.... like an extra stage of Jakes. |
