Considering an upgrade

I have an '87 Ford F800 with a fairly new (50,000 miles) engine and a 40' enclosed gooseneck trailer. I have not put either of them to use yet, but I am considering selling this truck and getting a 1-ton dually. Some questions I have are: Can a 1-ton dually effectively and efficiently pull this kind of trailer? What type of fuel mileage could I expect? I am just starting out in the business and would like some guidance, so if anyone could take the time to answer my questions and throw some tips at me, I would most certainly appreciate it. Thank you. |

Not telling you to stay with Fords, but since you have one, thought you might be more familiar with Ford models. Stay with at least F-650. Is designed for heavier use. If I can help in anyway, let me know. Ron |
