This 99 volvo is new to me.It grinds when going in gear to look at the brake and throwout bearing there is about a half inch of shiny shaft showing between the two while the clutch peddle is out. The truck has a self adjusting clutch eaton i believe shows about 2/3 left I had my wife work the clutch and i do not se any broken springs in the mechanism. My question is what is the best way to adjust this linkage it is hydraulic assisted. There is a valve with a hyraulic line connected to the bottom two bolts holding it in place and a plate that i believe used to have marks on it to guage the adjustment.this valve is connected to to shaft that moves your throwout bearing.connected by a small fork which is on a threaded rod and has a lock nut below it to adjust it.How do i adjust this there is no space to remove the pin that connects the fork to the rod.I dont want to take the hydraulic line loose.Do you think this has been apart before and put back together wrong Should i pull the spline gear of of the shaft and rotate it 1 spline and put it back on. OR AM I JUST OVERLOOKING WHERE THE REAL ADJUSTMENT IS MADE. |
