Jim, Adjusting a clutch is a two man job on big trucks. One person needs to press the clutch pedal in while the other adjusts the clutch! On the bottom of the bell housing you sould find a small 4x6 plate or so,some have a grease fitting coming down from them. Remove that plate if still on. From there you find the key on the outside rim of the clutch, it usually has a 9/16 bolt the holds the key in place. Remove it. Then using a special tool that adjusts clutchs you turn it clockwise or counter clockwise depending on what result you want utilizing the dogs on the outside rim of the clutch. Then you will need to adjust the clutch brake because while adjusting the clutch you will alter the clutch barke settings also. Confused yet? |
