black smoke

Have an 04 Freightliner, 14 liter, Detroit - Been running Howell's Meaner Cleaner for about 3 weeks.. yesterday truck began to pull real good when its under a load going up hill, but I get a lot of black smoke - but its pulling good (before I would have to down shift going up hill, now not as often). Sounds like turbo is pulling up, can hear different tone in engine and then get the black smoke, alot of smoke. On level ground cruising 65-70 miles per hour no problems, no smoke. Anybody experience this or have any input? |
