I never thought I'd go begging for a truck driving job, but the time has come---I'm hopin' to hook up with an Owner/Operator who runs his or her trucks back and forth clear across the United States, big long runs or great triangles (I used to run CA-PA-GA-CA, CA-NC-IL-CA, etc). I also used to haul Hazardous (Class 3, 4, and 9) clear across country, and I have PLENTY of winter and mountain driving experience (used to run Eisenhower twice a week, and I've pulled every major grade in the country many times in winter conditions). I don't care about goin' into NYC, so long as I'm paid for it---been there at least a dozen times over the years. I have no wife or kids, so I'm flexible with regard to "home time"---in fact, I'm in a bit of a financial hole right now, so I'd be willing to pull restarts wherever and whenever for at least three months. All of my experience has been with 53' vans and reefers, so I'd like to pull either of those. I consider myself to be a safe and wholly defensive driver (gotta be nowadays), and I still extend old school "road courtesy" to others. My MVR is clean and everything is current, although I have to renew my CDL-A (Endorsements TX) by the end of June---I'd be willing to renew it early and then stay out for a few months, provided the truck owner offered permanent employment, long runs, timely pay, etc. I'd also be willing to haul Hazardous if the pay is right and the equipment is in good shape. The last outfit I ran with was really good---big long runs from CA clear to the East Coast and back, or big triangles like those listed above to let my hours roll over and keep the truck moving. Unfortunately, they didn't make it, which explains this post. I have a lot to offer to the right employer---somebody who likes to run long and knows the value of a good driver. If you're that person, or if you know another O/O who is, send an e-mail or respond here with contact information. Thanks for your time and consideration. "The Railsplitter" |
