I just wanted to pass on some tool advice, these are tools we actually use in our fleet. I know this is not the best tool for checking your alternator and batteries. But if I don't have a multimeter with me this tool works great. Plug into a cigar lighter
-Engine off - indicates battery state of charge
-Engine running - indicates alternator condition (low voltage conditions, normal or over charge).

This is the best tool for checking alternators and batteries. This tool also check the cables from the batteries to the starter and alternator.
