I am thinking about expanding a little transportbusiness that I have and was wondering if itwould be better to hire an owner operator to pullmy trailer, or hire an employee ? not looking forward to paying workmans comp and employee taxes,if I hire an employee.if an owner operator would be better, how do yougo about doing that legally ? please help

Brooks Trucking is a small two truck corporation operating withinthe central Ohio area. Their notorious for hauling illegal freight in commercial vehiclesthat are at best, unsafe.They have received several tickets by the Ohio State Patrol forvarious safety violation; yet they continue to operate in contradiction to Federal and Statelaws.Having ran the gambit of finding reputable and qualified drivers due to their lack ofcredit, unsafe equipment, and extremely low pay; they now rely primarily on driverswho's records are not sufficient to warrant acceptance by another carrier. This results in adriver fleet that lacks any professionalism, and a corporate safety records which leaves alot to be desired.When a more qualified driver resigns from this "outlaw trucking"company; they find some reason or another to steal that drivers final two paychecksunder one pretense or another. Several Owner-Operators that have their family's housemortgaged to pay for the truck, suddenly find themselves in financial difficulties whileworking for, and subsequently quitting this cheating company.The owner and his son arecareer criminals who's criminal and civil records reflect negatively in almost everyaspect, as they've been sued and convicted of multiple charges, including assault &battery on an employee/driver.The corporation is allegedly shielded in a six-layer shieldwhich the falsely assume will protect them from culpability. Some of their equipment isunder the owners wife {Cathy Brooks}name, while others are under different names, anddifferent companies.But what could one expect from a company who's chief officersdriving records are so bad that they carry multiple drivers licenses from different states,and use each others names to avoid prosecution.This company, the owners, and theiroperating principals are a sham and a slap in the face to every respectable truck-driver inthe USA.
