three speeding tickets in a year

My husband received his first speeding ticket 10 months ago. He has accumulated 2 more in the past month. Two of the tickets were received in Illinois and the third was in Iowa. The only other incident on his record is a seat belt ticket he received approx. 2 years ago in Iowa. Is he going to lose his license? How many points is this equal to? Beyond the fines, how will these incidences affect our insurance rates? Is there any other costs/fines that we're going to be liable for because of this? Hope you can help with some of these questions. Thanks.
