Dear eaglesnest, Why would you go on a trucking board and ask a tax question? I will answer what I know. I do not know the difference between a perdium and stipend. Ask your accountant. Perdiums are compensation from a company to an employee for travel expenses. A company can utilize perdiums for tax purposes. If you are a owner of a company you can deduct meals, lodging and auto expenses anyway for tax purposes so creating a perdium seems mute. Cigarettes do not qualify...sorry. If you are incorporated and a employee of the corporation you could create a perdium but why? If you are not incorporated and considered a employee of the company you cannot. This field is not my expertise by any means. You need to talk to your accountant to really be sure. Hope I helped
