Dear Dave G,The answer to your question will take a little figuring. The first thing you need to to is calculate your trailer expenses. This information can be found on our page,http://www.truckinfo.net/ShopTalk/depreciation_costs.htmThen you need to calculate your savings by buying a super be. You said it will save you 43K miles a year. I am not sure how you figured that but, presuming it will. This is what figures I arrived at if you in fact do save that many miles. I took 5 years for the life of the trailer and multiplied that times 43K bringing us to 215K miles saved over the life of the trailer. I then took the mileage saved and multiplied that times 87 cents per mile. That is my general or average cost of operation for an owner operator covering 100K miles a year. Your actual cost may very and I am only throwing that figure out as an example. With that being said. You savings would be $187,050 if the cost of the trailer is less than this you will be saving money. Which it is. You need to be sure that your mileage saved is and will be true in fact. If you have any more questions about this feel free to contact me.
