Dear trukmom63, I don't think your going to like my reply. You are responcable for the phone charges on their phone. If the calls were unauthorized and not fron you. You need to contact the phone company and get these charges removed. If you cannot. You are liable. Concerning the fuel slip. Your employer can withhold it also, unless you did turn it in and they lost it. If this is the case, You need to refute this. A copy of the fuel slip would resolve the matter. If you cannot or do not have a copy or the original it will be very hard to prove you had purchased the fuel. As a company driver once I always copied my fuel slips so when I turned them in I had proof for just a case like this. I guess I was lucky. They always say hind sight is better than fore sight.A employer can withhold more than 10% for damages received from an employee. I would advise you to contact a lawyer at least to see if they could help but, I am not sure you wouldn't be throwing good money after bad. It is worth at least discussing with one for consultation. I am so sorry this has happened to you. I wish I could have given you better news.
