Dear lp263,You can get a CDL anytime as long as you have a valid drivers licence. That is the good news. The bad part is that the violation stays on your driving record for 10 years. It is rated for points by insurance companies for 3 years, so that is some relief, but most preferred carriers do not take drivers with DUI violations, so it may be a long wait until you get that kind of policy (such as Geico, AAA, 21st Century, Allstate, etc.)Hope I helped and GOOD LUCK!
